Sautéed Green Beans


These sautéed green beans are a perfect healthy side dish.  They are made in one pot with garlic, olive oil and a little spice. They are vegan, paleo and naturally gluten-free.

– Extra virgin olive oil – Red pepper flake – Fresh green beans – Fresh garlic – Coarse kosher salt – Water

Line up handfuls of string beans up. Cut the stem ends off with a sharp knife. Continue with all of the green beans.

Step 1

Finely chop the garlic.

Step 2

Bloom the red pepper flake in the hot oil for a few seconds.

Step 3

Add the green beans to the skillet to let them blister in the hot oil. Stir often to make sure they all saute a bit.

Step 4

Add in the garlic and salt and stir well to toast the garlic.

Step 5

Finish by steaming the green beans with a little water, covered, until they are crisp tender.
