I have decided to re-name the year 2015. From now on the year formerly known as 2015 will be called:
5 minute apple cider vinegar salad dressingThe year I became obsessed with sharing salad dressings.

In January I declared, “I think I could come up with a new salad dressing recipe every week for a year, and never run out of ideas. 52 dressings. I think I could do that. I just might.” I didn’t make it that far, but I did kick off a series with this Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing, which went on to become one of the most popular recipes of the year. In March I came up with a green smoothie for my gym’s smoothie of the month. On a whim, I shared it on my blog where it proceeded to go crazily viral on a random Saturday morning while I was blissfully unaware buying a cup of coffee. For the record I am still obsessed with the recipe and had it for breakfast just yesterday.

I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to know that the number one recipe on my website this past year was a crazy-easy green bean recipe. This is why we are friends.

The year that I was reminded how quickly things can change

One evening in the spring our neighbor’s house caught on fire and they lost so much. A few nights after the fire they came for dinner, and I was struck by how peaceful they were in the face of what had happened. They had lost so many material things but seemed more grateful for all the things that weren’t actually things in their life.
