I have decided to re-name the year 2015. From now on the year formerly known as 2015 will be called:
The year I became obsessed with sharing salad dressings.
In January I declared, “I think I could come up with a new salad dressing recipe every week for a year, and never run out of ideas. 52 dressings. I think I could do that. I just might.” I didn’t make it that far, but I did kick off a series with this Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing, which went on to become one of the most popular recipes of the year. [More on the most popular recipes at the bottom of the post.]
The year that we finally started finishing in the pan and ended up making a whopping 10 gallons of maple syrup.
The Year I special ordered $100 worth of figs
from Chile for one (very important) photograph and I took a selfie of the fact to commemorate the occasion.
The year that Buzzfeed almost crashed my website.
In March I came up with a green smoothie for my gym’s smoothie of the month. On a whim, I shared it on my blog where it proceeded to go crazily viral on a random Saturday morning while I was blissfully unaware buying a cup of coffee. For the record I am still obsessed with the recipe and had it for breakfast just yesterday.
The year we got Judy
(aka Judith Tahini.)
The year I accepted the fact that you just love me for my vegetables
I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to know that the number one recipe on my website this past year was a crazy-easy green bean recipe. This is why we are friends.
The year that I was reminded how quickly things can change
One evening in the spring our neighbor’s house caught on fire and they lost so much. A few nights after the fire they came for dinner, and I was struck by how peaceful they were in the face of what had happened. They had lost so many material things but seemed more grateful for all the things that weren’t actually things in their life.
The year that everyone freaked out
about my Coconut Lime Skirt Steak Recipe
The year I turned 40
and had a giant wig party to celebrate the fact.
The year that Jase and I went to Paris
without our kids!
The year I became a cookbook author.
The Year I Launched KatieWebster.com
The year I was asked to speak about photography
twice! Even though I take all my photos in my bedroom and my most sophisticated piece of advice was to buy a $5 sheet of foam board to bounce light back on the subject.
